Drag Races

For the 7th year in a row we were able to attend the NHRA Drag Races!!

After the races they sent 2 jet cars out to race.  They have jet engines in them so it was just like a jet flying by.  It was AMAZING!!!!  As you can see from the picture the flames are huge and where we were sitting you could feel the heat from it.

 This picture isn't the best because its hard to capture an action shot but it was perfect to be able to see the flames.

Here we are watching the Sunday races.  All I have to say is we have taught Kelci well!!!  I promise you this was all her.  We did not coax her to cheer.

McDowell Family Reunion

We had the opportunity to attend my family reunion in Idaho.  We went camping at Bull Trout Lake for a couple of days.  It was nice and relaxing and great to be able to spend time with my family.

The lake was way to cold for me but some were brave enough and decided to go swimming anyway.

Travis brought his fishing gear in hopes to catch some dinner.  He caught 2 fish but decided to put them back in hopes to find bigger one.  Needless to say he didn't have any luck catching others.

Blake had to take wood cutting class 101 and fire starting class 101.  Boy did we get a kick out of him learning how to cut wood.  I am glad to say he did not loose any fingers

How do you keep kids entertained while camping?  Let them play in the dog kennel.

For the last night there we went to the Hot Springs.  We were shocked at how hot they were.  Luckily we were able to hike down to some more that were closer to the river and they weren't near as hot.

We were sad to leave but very grateful for the opportunity to spend time with family.  Thanks Shannon and Devin for putting on a great reunion!!!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

We took a trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs a couple weeks ago with Nathan and his family.  It was a pretty cool zoo because it is built into the mountain.

My favorite part was being able to feed the Giraffes up close and personal.
